Noise immunity. How to be sure that the System is protected from interferences from other radio devices?
The Answer:
1. Frequency Modulation - Home radio units that operates on the same frequency (433MHz) has amplitude modulation. Thus they can not affect the System with any interferences.
2. Noise immune coding with data alteration - Protects from wide band (pulse) interferences which might radiate such units as electric drill, electric shaver or hair dryer.
3. Control Record Controlling (CRC) - Assures accuracy and completion of transmitting data in case of such interferences and lightning.
4. Data scrambling - Protects the System and data from hacking, acts of vandalism or unauthorized access.
5. Data receipting - Transceiver repeats data transmission till the confirmation of receipt. It works like SMS when the sender receives the confirmation of SMS delivery.
6. Bidirectional channel - Means that every device of the System has the receiver and the transmitter in contrast to other wireless utility metering systems. Such feature assures control of the status of every device of the System at any time, e.g. the dispatcher can request the status of entire System or of the concrete device at particular apartment. Such feature also suppresses inter System interferences.
GSM-communicator is the unit that connects dispatcher (billing office) server to metering unit (electricity, water, heat or gas meters). It interconnects GSM/GPRS, 433 MHz channels and RS-485.
GSM-communicator has imbedded battery that keeps the unit in operating mode for not less then 24 hours in case of power failure. To receive and transmit data from and to meters, GSM-communicator support wireless interfaces as well as wired RS-485.
Radioadapters and repeaters - the hardware of local “bottom level” network. Radioadapters operate on ISM (free) 433 MHz frequency. Up to 31 meters can be connected to one radioadapter.
Radioadapters receive data from dispatching center (billing office) only via radio channel and transmit this data to metering device via RS-485. Radioadapter also receives confirmation on command execution from the metering device and transmit the confirmation back to dispatching center (billing office).
Repeaters support all the functions of Radioadapters and also can transmit the commands to other Repeaters and Radioadapters via radio channel.
